Jean-Simon Rioux is an associate for the International Peacebuilding Advisory Team. Before joining IPAT, Jean-Simon held multiple positions in the field with Interpeace. He accompanied the organization’s peacebuilding process in Mali from its early days, while also leading transnational engagement around new forms of violence and violent extremism in the West Africa region. He was also in charge of Interpeace Policy engagement in that region.
In parallel to his programmatic work, Jean-Simon delivered peacebuilding and conflict sensitive programming training to international and national NGOs, as well as MINUSMA. He also designed and facilitated multiple peacebuilding strategy, programme design and/or strategic reflexion workshops with multiple organisations, including the UN’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF), the EU, UNICEF, and others. In the past, Jean-Simon also worked with the World Bank and leading international think tanks. He holds a master degree from Sciences-Po Paris.
