Luca Willig is an independent consultant based in Geneva, Switzerland. He assists international institutions, governments and NGOs design peacebuilding policies and strategies, integrate conflict analysis and conflict sensitivity in their work, and facilitate dialogue initiatives. He also conducts programme and project evaluations.
Luca brings 12+ years of international experience to his IPAT role, with both headquarters and field positions in government, the UN and international NGOs in peacebuilding, mediation, and humanitarian affairs. From 2016 to 2018, he spearheaded Switzerland’s efforts to bolster peace in Mali and Niger based out of Bamako. Before that, he coordinated support to mediation and dialogue processes in Central and West Africa with the UN Mediation Support Unit. From 2009 to 2014, he worked as a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Afghanistan and the Central African Republic and at the headquarters of Médecins Sans Frontières. A native French speaker from Switzerland, Luca has degrees in international relations, conflict resolution, and management for the non-profit sector.
